Formula One’s governing body FIA will convene an extraordinary meeting of its World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) on Tuesday after a number of sporting federations banned Russian athletes from competing internationally following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine asks FIA to ban Russian drivers from racing

Ukraine’s motor racing federation has asked the FIA to ban all Russian and Belarusian drivers amid the ongoing war in its country, a request which would end Nikita Mazepin’s time with the Haas team if accepted.
