'Frasier' star Kelsey Grammer shares Christmas plans with his seven kids: 'It's my dream'

Kelsey Grammer is looking forward to celebrating the holidays with his seven children.

The 68-year-old actor, who recently starred in the Paramount+ revival of his iconic sitcom “Frasier,” shared his plans to spend Christmas at home with his family during an interview with Fox News Digital.

“We’re going to be in L.A. We always wrestle with – well, should we just travel? But then, honestly, home is home. And it’s nice to be home for Christmas and to celebrate and sit under the tree and have a fire and all the things we can still do,” Grammer said.

“It’s really lovely,” he continued. “We have a magnificent family. And it’s grown and grown throughout my years. You know, I’m up to seven kids and of all different ages. And it’s fantastic.”

‘FRASIER’ STAR KELSEY GRAMMER ON WHY HIS SEVEN KIDS WILL GET HIS INHERITANCE

“And if they can all be in the same room together and happy and smiling – nothing makes me happier. That’d be my Christmas present.”

“But, you know, we’ll see,” Grammer added with a laugh. “Some days that doesn’t work out so well. You know, because families are families. But that’s my dream.”

Grammer, who has been married four times, shares his eldest child, daughter Spencer Grammer, 40, with his first wife Doreen Alderman.

He is also father to daughter Greer Grammer, 31, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Barrie Buckner.

The “Grand Isle” actor has daughter Mason Olivia, 22, and son Jude Gordon, 19, with his ex-wife Camille Grammer, 55. He married Kayte Walsh in 2011. Grammer and the U.K. native are parents to daughter Faith Evangeline, 11, and sons Kelsey Gabriel, 9, and Auden James, 7.

During his interview with Fox News Digital, Grammer also reflected on the importance of faith in his life, and how it has helped him overcome challenging times.

“That’s always been sort of a moving target,” the “Jesus Revolution” star explained. “What’s nice is I lost my faith for a long time. When I was younger. I got it back.”

‘FRASIER’S’ DAVID HYDE PIERCE JOINS ‘THE GOOD WIFE’

He continued, “Because God doesn’t give up on you. Sometimes we close, and we just say, ‘I’m not listening. I’m not here for this.’ But then there He is. And that’s been my experience.”

“And I’ve been given great many, many things by virtue of the fact that there were other things more important to me. And the most important thing was a sense of faith.”

Grammer also shared his thoughts on returning to the role of therapist Dr. Frasier Crane after almost 20 years.

The five-time Emmy Award winner originated the role during his stint on “Cheers” from 1984 to 1993 and starred in the hit sitcom’s spinoff series “Frasier” for 11 seasons from 1993 to 2004. He reprised the role in the Paramount+ “Frasier” revival, which aired its season finale earlier this month.

“I wanted to prove to myself and to other people, of course, that Frasier was still interesting and still watchable and still funny,” Grammer told Fox News Digital. “Those were important parts of it. But also, I thought there were more stories to tell about this character because there’s more stories to tell in our own lives.”

Grammer recalled that the massive ratings success of the 2018 “Roseanne” reboot led him to think it was time to bring “Frasier” back.

“Frasier certainly is as interesting as the Roseanne character or any number of other shows,” he said. “And I thought, ‘We can find a way for this to happen.’ And we had a sort of ripe field to harvest as we always thought it would be a reflection of the relationship between me and my father, between me and my son. So that was always going to bookend things. And that was the foundational principle we talked to other writers about.”

For the 10-episode revival, Grammer teamed up with showrunners Joe Cristalli and Chris Harris. In an October interview with The Wrap, Cristalli revealed that he set up a parody Twitter feed about getting a job as a writer for the sitcom called “Frasier for Hire.”

Cristalli recalled that his agent sent the Twitter feed along with a “Frasier” spec script that he wrote to Grammer’s producers, who initially rejected his idea for the revival. Cristalli later collaborated on a new “Frasier” pitch with former “How I Met Your Mother” showrunner Harris.

Cristalli told the outlet that Grammer and his producers chose their pitch after sifting through about 30 others.

“They have a kind of silliness that I liked,” Grammer told Fox News Digital of Cristalli and Harris. “I was even drawn to it more because I thought – because in the past we had a kind of sense of how important we were and stuff. I thought, ‘You know, maybe we maybe don’t need to be so important. Maybe we just need to be kind of fun.’ And I think that… we’ve achieved that.

The actor said he also wanted to dispel the idea that viewers wouldn’t be interested in a “Frasier” revival or that fans wouldn’t embrace it due to their love for the original series.

“A lot of people think it’s an untouchable show,” he explained. “There’s a lot of sentiment from some of the past players. You know, it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s a jewel. It should be left alone. You can’t touch it.’ And I don’t think anything is that precious. I just don’t, because I mean, it’s like, ‘Come on.’ He’s a living, breathing character. He’s gone another 20 years. He might be interesting to catch up to. Let’s have a look into his life and see.”

Grammer continued, “And sure enough, he is kind of interesting and fun and still trying because he’s still trying. He’s in it with his whole heart. And that’s how he’s always been.

“I think the audience is always sort of behind the guy that sticks to it, you know?”

Though a second season of the “Frasier” revival has yet to be green-lit, Grammer said that he would be on board to return.

“We’re just kicking it around now,” he said. “I have an idea of what I’d like to do, but we’ll get into stories as soon as somebody says, ‘Please, let’s do some more.'”

‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ star John Schneider says AI cannot simulate ‘heart’ and ‘soul’

“The Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider isn’t afraid of artificial intelligence.

“What AI does not have and what AI cannot simulate is a heart, is a soul. So, I’m not afraid of AI,” he told Fox News Digital.

Schneider gave an analogy, comparing the technology to artificial dairy coffee creamer, to explain why he’s not concerned.

“A lot of people are talking about AI like it’s this terrible, terrible thing that’s coming in. I think it’s powdered cream at best,” he said. “You know, it’s Coffee-mate. It will never be half-and-half. It’ll never even be 2% [milk]. It’s always going to be powdered cow.”

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?

He continued, “Now, it may be good, it may taste good, but it ain’t milk and it ain’t half-and-half. It is not a dairy product. So, I’m not concerned about it. I don’t think anybody should be concerned about it.”

Artificial intelligence loomed large over Hollywood this year, with the technology being a key issue in negotiations during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes over the summer and fall.

WGA ratified their contract on Sept. 25 and SAG-AFTRA ratified theirs on Dec. 5; both expire in 2026.

Like many other actors and creatives in entertainment, Schneider feels that the human element will never be fully removed from the creative process.

“When the rubber hits the road, great content comes from inspiration, which I think comes when your heart and your soul bump up against each other,” the 63-year-old said. “And that’s not going to happen in AI.”

He added with a laugh, “So there, take that, AI! I’m not worried about you. You Coffee-mate, powder-cow phony!”

Schneider is currently starring in the new family-friendly Christmas comedy “Jingle Smells,” which was executive-produced by FOX News Channel’s Sean Hannity and Logan Sekulow. Released on Nov. 23 on Rumble, the holiday film also stars Eric Roberts, Ben Davies, Brad Stine, Jim Breuer, Victoria Jackson and Dylan Postl.

“People are excited to be able to sit and watch and enjoy a movie with their whole family again,” Schneider said. “Those opportunities really aren’t around anymore.”

He continued, “‘Jingle Smells’ is in fact one of those. And I think it’s going to be around for years and years to come. It’s a very fun movie.”

The actor also recently launched John Schneider’s Revenuer’s Reserve Premium Moonshine, which sold out on the first day of its launch this month.

“We’ve done now two runs of 10,000 bottles. And they’re gone in three weeks,” he said. “That’s 20,000 bottles apparently in three weeks. It’s crazy.”

'Dick Van Dyke' star had 'conflict' with Mary Tyler Moore during hit '60s sitcom: 'They never became close'

“The Dick Van Dyke Show” is still considered one of TV’s greatest comedies, but it wasn’t always a laughing matter when cameras stopped rolling.

Rose Marie, a former child star who further skyrocketed to fame on the hit sitcom, faced some tensions with co-star Mary Tyler Moore. Rose Marie, who passed away in 2017 at age 94, would have turned 100 on Aug. 15.

In celebration, the estate of the late actress is releasing “Rose Marie Sings: The Complete Mercury Recordings & More,” which features 29 classic songs, including rare additions.

ROSE MARIE’S LAST PHONE INTERVIEW: ‘DICK VAN DYKE SHOW’ STAR SHARES UNBELIEVABLE STORIES OF MOBSTERS, SUPERSTARS AND A LIFE WELL LIVED

Shortly before her death, Rose Marie was the subject of a documentary, “Wait for Your Laugh,” which is currently available for streaming.

Her daughter, Georgiana “Noopy” Guy Rodrigues, told Fox News Digital her mother and Moore never had the chance to get to know each other. Moore passed away in 2017 at age 80.

“Mary was up and coming,” Rodrigues explained. “There was a little bit of conflict between my mother and Mary on the show. Originally, my mother was told that the show was about the writers. And then as the show progressed, it started to go more toward the home life with Dick and Mary.”

“They never became close,” Rodrigues added.

The CBS show ran from 1961 to 1966. It was Moore’s first major TV role. As the glamorous young wife of Dick Van Dyke’s character, she famously traded in classic housedresses for more modern Capri pants. Viewers quickly became captivated by the dreamy, but oftentimes frazzled spouse.

“Mary was… not really that outgoing as far as [being] personable with everybody because she was new,” said Rodrigues. “She was starting. She was learning. And my mother later admitted… she said, ‘I probably was a little bit jealous because she got a lot of attention and everything.’ As the show progressed, it became more about Dick and Mary [being] away from the office.”

In her last telephone interview before her death, Rose Marie told Fox News Digital that she spent more time with her male co-stars on set.

“Mary Tyler Moore was brand new and very pretty,” she explained at the time. “And everybody went crazy for her. She was very feminine, very charming. I was always with the boys. I was never in that position. I hung out with [show creator] Carl [Reiner] and Dick. Mary was very, very busy becoming a star. Even the first day we were at rehearsal, she said, ‘I’m going to have my first show.’ I would say, ‘Why don’t you wait until we do this one first?’ But Mary, she was very much a go-getter. She learned an awful lot from all of us. And we all helped her.”

The series told the tale of comedy writer Rob Petrie, played by Van Dyke, and his misadventures both in the office and at home. Rodrigues said her mother was the first to be cast.

“At the time Dick Van Dyke was not well known,” she said. “Carl Reiner and [executive producer] Sheldon Leonard cast her first in the show. They said, ‘We’re going to do this show with Dick Van Dyke.’ And she said, ‘What’s a Dick Van Dyke?’ They said, ‘He’s a guy. He sings on Broadway right now. He’s in a Broadway show.’… And then she asked Carl, ‘Who have you got for the second writer?’ And they said, ‘Well, we haven’t cast him yet.’ She says, ‘Why don’t you get Morey Amsterdam?’ That’s how Morey got in the show.”

While the women never bonded, Rose Marie developed a close-knit friendship with Van Dyke, 97.

“Dick was one of the easiest people in the world to get along with,” said Rodrigues. “He was never a problem – never. You could go, ‘Dick, go over there and stand on your hands.’… Off he’d go… We became close with Dick. I became very close with Dick’s daughter.”

MARY TYLER MOORE ‘WAS NEARLY BLINDED’ BY DIABETES IN HER FINAL YEARS AS SHE FOUGHT THE DISEASE: HUSBAND

“When you think about it, [my mother] was in an office with two other guys [in the series],” Rodrigues shared. “She was making the same salary, and she was equal. Later, Mary had her show. And Marlo Thomas had her show. But that all came later. That didn’t happen before ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show.’ And Marta Kauffman, who wrote ‘Friends,’… said, ‘If I hadn’t seen [the character] Sally Rogers on that show, I wouldn’t be where I am.’ That’s the kind of mark that she made on that show.”

At times, Rose Marie bumped heads with her pal Reiner, resenting that Moore was given more prominence than her on the show. Reiner, speaking in “Wait for Your Laugh,” bluntly pushed back. “I used real strong language,” he recalled. “I said, ‘You both have beautiful legs. They wanna look at her legs.’”

Reiner died in 2020 at age 98.

Rose Marie was nominated for three Emmy Awards during her time on “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” The series was nominated for a total of 25 and won 15, The New York Times reported.

After “The Dick Van Dyke Show” ended, so did the residuals for Rose Marie, said Rodrigues.

“That only went on for five years,” said Rodrigues. “One of the things that I insisted that got put in her documentary was that the residuals stop after the five. Because the show is still running and constantly running, people thought, ‘Oh my God, she’s gotta be rolling in it.’ Well, the residual thing in those days is not like how it is now. So after 1965, she never earned a dollar from that show… So many people didn’t know that… So afterward, she wanted to keep working.”

Rose Marie went on to have a recurring role in the second and third seasons of “The Doris Day Show.” She and America’s Sweetheart became fast friends.

ROCK HUDSON WAS TERRIFIED OF ‘DYNASTY’ KISS WITH COSTAR LINDA EVANS AFTER AIDS DIAGNOSIS: ‘NOBODY KNEW’

“She loved Doris Day,” said Rodrigues. “They really became good friends. I think my mother talked to Doris two days before she passed away. She loved Doris because Doris was so professional. She knew everything that had to be done. She knew the right people, the crew and all of that. And of course, both of them were huge animal lovers. We adopted a dog during ‘The Doris Day Show’ called Scruffy.”

“She loved working with Doris,” Rodrigues continued. “It was a relationship that even years later, they would call, and they’d talk like girlfriends. Doris was living up in Carmel. She would call, or mother would call and say, ‘Hey Dodo.’… It was a marvelous relationship. She so admired her… On her first day on set, she came back and said, ‘Wow, this is fantastic. This is great.’… That’s Doris Day.”

In her lifetime, Rose Marie was proud of playing Sally Rogers, a rare sitcom character at the time who wasn’t “a wife, mother or housekeeper,” she tweeted in 2017. For nearly a century, she also led a career in the theater, radio, nightclubs and movies. She was also a regular on “Hollywood Squares.”

Rose Marie would often claim she had the longest career in entertainment history. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2001.

During her final telephone interview, Rose Marie told Fox News Digital that today’s comics had changed the industry.

“I think they’re terrible,” she admitted. “Is that blunt enough? First of all, they’re filthy. They all use four-letter words. Being funny is not using four-letter words. Morey [Amsterdam] taught me that. He said, ‘If you have to use four-letter words, you’re not funny.’ And it’s true! They use dirty words for shock value. They’re not funny. I can’t laugh at them… All the great comics are gone… Just pay attention next time and you’ll see what I mean.”

DORIS DAY GIVES RARE INTERVIEW, RECALLS WORKING WITH ‘DICK VAN DYKE SHOW’ STAR ROSE MARIE

Today, Rodrigues hopes the new album will introduce a new audience to her mother.

“There’s a whole group of people who are young and don’t even know who she was, except from television,” said Rodrigues. “‘Dick Van Dyke’ was a big part of her life. She loved it. But it was five years out of her life, which really isn’t that long.”

Adam Silver 'shocked' Grizzlies star Ja Morant was seen with firearm once again

After seeing Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Ja Morant in yet another Instagram Live video holding a firearm, NBA commissioner Adam Silver was “shocked.”

Silver spoke with ESPN’s Malika Andrews about the situation that comes just two months after Morant was suspended eight games for doing the same thing on his own Instagram account while at a nightclub. This time, Morant was caught on a friend’s Instagram account while they were in a car together.

“Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video,” Silver said from the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday. “Now, we’re in the process of investigating it, and we’ll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. The video is a bit grainy and all that, but I’m assuming the worst.”

The Instagram account belonged to Morant’s friend, Davonte Pack, who was also involved in multiple off-the-court instances that the league has investigated. He was also banned from Grizzlies games for one year after getting involved in a post-game altercation with the Indiana Pacers on Jan. 29.

At that time, the Pacers claimed they saw a red laser pointed at them from an SUV where Morant was inside. However, the league’s investigation “could not corroborate that any individual threatened others with a weapon.”

Morant’s first incident with a handgun came while intoxicated at a club while in Denver to face the Nuggets.

MEMPHIS RAPPER DEFENDS JA MORANT OVER LATEST INCIDENT: ‘GUNS ARE NOT ILLEGAL’

Morant enrolled in a counseling facility in Florida. There, Morant was set to learn about how to better manage stress.

He later traveled to New York City to meet with Silver, which came 11 days after the incident in Denver.

After the meeting, Silver laid down his punishment: Eight games suspended without pay. Silver called Morant’s actions “irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous.”

“Before we got to a subsequent potential to have done something wrong, we were very focused on the misconduct that was in front of us at the time,” Silver said on Tuesday, via ESPN. “Frankly, most of our conversation was about how incredibly serious the first incident was of waving a firearm on social media.

“Against, the consequences there — an eight-game suspension — was pretty serious and something that he, at least to me, seemed to take incredibly seriously in that time. And we spoke for a long time about not just the consequences that could have on his career, but the safety issues around it – [Morant] could’ve injured, maimed, killed himself, someone else with an act like that – and also the acknowledgment that he’s a star. He has an incredibly huge following, and [we discussed] my concern — and I thought he shared with me — that millions, if not tens of millions, of kids globally would have seen him do something that was celebrating in a way that act of using a firearm in that fashion.”

While the NBA investigates Morant’s incident, the Grizzlies have suspended him from all team activities pending the league’s review.

Suspended Grizzlies star Ja Morant's nightclub incident could cost him $39 million: report

Ja Morant has quickly become a superstar. The Memphis Grizzlies guard has a unique skill set and is often the most gifted athlete on the basketball court on any given night.

His high-flying slam dunks have taken the internet by storm over the past couple of years, and he has helped lift his team to multiple playoff appearances and a division title. Last July, the Grizzlies rewarded Morant with a five-year supermax contract extension.

The contract included incentives which entitled Morant to nearly a quarter-billion dollars if he met certain thresholds this season.

Now, Morant has garnered a significant amount of attention on the internet, but for reasons that have nothing to do with his on the court feats.

Morant briefly flashed a handgun at a strip club near Denver in an Instagram Live video on March 4. The ensuing fallout resulted in an eight-game suspension without pay for conduct detrimental to the league, the NBA announced Wednesday.

But the impact of Morant’s actions could further cost the star athlete an estimated $39 million.

JA MORANT BREAKS SILENCE ON VIRAL VIDEO WHERE HE FLASHED GUN AT CLUB: ‘NOT WHO I AM’

Per an NBA rule known as the “Derrick Rose Rule,” a team can pay 30% of its salary cap to any player that signs a maximum Designated Rookie extension, if that player meets certain qualifications.

The select qualifications include a player winning the MVP award, two Defensive Player of the Year awards in the past three seasons or two All-NBA team appearances. At least one of those qualifications has to be met before the max contract kicks in for the player to receive the salary bump.

Morant already has one appearance on the All-NBA team to his credit, and appeared to be on his way to a second appearance until the incident earlier this month.

JA MORANT’S LATEST BEHAVIOR STEMS FROM ‘PARENTING’ AND MUSIC, FELLOW NBA PLAYER PATRICK BEVERLEY SAYS

According to Spotrac, a second All-NBA team appearance would result in the value of Morant’s extension jumping from $194 million to $233 million.

The issue is that Morant might not play in enough games this season to qualify for an All-NBA team. If he plays in every remaining game after he returns from his suspension, Morant would finish the season with 65 games played.

“I feel like in the past we didn’t know what was at stake,” Morant said during a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Jalen Rose on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies have managed to hold onto the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference while Morant has been away from the team. Memphis is hoping to make a deep playoff run this upcoming postseason — with the help of Morant.

Giants agree to terms with budding star linebacker Bobby Okereke: report

The New York Giants had a need at middle linebacker, and like many others teams on Monday, they snatched one off the free-agent market.

Former Indianapolis Colts star linebacker Bobby Okereke reportedly agreed to a four-year, $40 million deal with the Giants with $22 million fully guaranteed.

All deals agreed to can be signed once the new league year begins on March 15.

The 26-year-old Stanford product has been a standout for the Colts since assuming a full-time starting role two seasons ago. A former third-round pick, Okereke hit 132 tackles in 17 games in 2021 as well as two interceptions, four passes defended and one sack.

He followed that up last season by breaking his career-high in tackles with 151 in 17 games. He had five passes defended and two forced fumbles as well.

GIANTS GIVE STERLING SHEPARD ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY WITH NEW ONE-YEAR CONTRACT: REPORT

Under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, the Giants tried different combinations of linebackers last season, including Jaylon Smith, Micah McFadden, Landon Collins and Jarrad Davis.

While the Giants’ defense was a solid group, their linebacking corps was viewed as a mediocre unit. They didn’t have the speed necessary to compete with teams, especially in their own division.

GM Joe Schoen, armed with a good amount of cap space despite inking quarterback Daniel Jones long term as well as franchise tagging running back Saquon Barkley, made the move to shore up that position as linebackers went off the board early.

The Giants’ defense could still use a cornerback, but they return most of their group from last season, including their front four of Jihad Ward, Dexter Lawrence, Leonard Williams and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Adoree’ Jackson, Xavier McKinney, Julian Love and others man the secondary.

The Giants are hoping to continue building toward a consistent playoff contender after surprising many with their 9-7-1 record that was good enough for a wild-card spot. They ended up defeating the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the playoffs on the road.
