MOSCOW, Idaho – Fox news contributor and retired Washington, D.C., homicide detective Ted Williams says Idaho police should have released information about a white sedan spotted near the scene of a Nov. 13 quadruple homicide near the University of Idaho campus “immediately” rather than three weeks after the fact. “I’m not being critical of law … Continue reading Idaho murders: Police should have released Hyundai information 'immediately,' former Det. Hey HN,
I’m Jordan, cofounder of Version Story (YC W21).
Imagine a world with no Git. In this versioning Mordor, even basic operations would be tedious and confusing.
To submit changes to your codebase, you designate one person on your team to manually update your repository. To get your changes approved, you email your code to the team and wait for colleagues to send you comments. When a colleague shares their changes before you do, you manually rebase your changes against theirs.
This is how professionals collaborate in many of the most important fields. These include lawyers drafting contracts, academics writing research papers, legislators drafting bills, and engineers managing CAD files. They all encounter the fundamental issues that git solves for coders. In the absence of git, they execute most git actions manually
Version Story is solving this problem. We’ve built the functionality of git into an intuitive visual, Figma-style interface.
My cofounder Kevin and I are both technical and we’ve built our initial product ourselves. We recently closed our first enterprise contract with a major law firm (https://www.artificiallawyer.com/2022/12/01/mishcon-brings-a…) and have many others in our sales pipeline. Now that we’re confident our product will be successful, we’re expanding our team.
At the moment, our team consists of me and Kevin. Kevin is a Stanford Law School-educated lawyer turned coder with experience working in Mergers & Acquisitions at Simpson Thatcher, and also as a software engineer at LinkedIn. I studied computer science at the University of Michigan and worked as a senior software engineer at LinkedIn prior to founding Version Story. We’re backed by investors including Y Combinator and Accel Ventures.
We’re looking for a strong, generalist engineer who is interested in traversing all parts of the stack to build new features, architecting our infrastructure, and helping us design git for documents.

Hey HN,
I’m Gabriel, founder of Meticulous.
Our mission is to make the world’s code safe, performant and reliable. We’re starting with a tool to catch JavaScript regressions in web applications with zero-effort from developers.
How it works: Insert a single line of JavaScript onto your site, and we record thousands of real user sessions. We then replay these sessions on new code to automatically catch bugs before they hit production. You can watch a 60-second demo at meticulous.ai.
We are a London-based YC company. Our engineering team previously worked at Dropbox, Opendoor and Google. We just raised $4m, and are backed by some of the best founders and technical leaders in Silicon Valley, including Guillermo Rauch (founder Vercel, author next.js), Jason Warner (CTO GitHub), Scott Belsky (CPO Adobe), Calvin French-Owen (founder Segment), Jared Friedman (YC partner and former CTO of Scribd) and a bunch of other incredible folks.
Catching JavaScript regressions is just the start. There is an entire category of products to build on top of replay. This ranges from automatic UI previews to revealing the performance impact of frontend code.
We want to change the way the world develops software, and influence software approaches for decades to come.
We are seeding a London office and hiring an onsite (few days per week) founding engineer to join our team of four.
You will have autonomy in building out this technology, but here are a few problems you might work on:
– Build a distributed system to concurrently replay thousands of sessions, such that a developer gets a result in seconds.
– Speed up the replay of sessions in a way that retains determinism.
– Derive algorithms to detect sessions that cover differing code paths and edge cases, and ignore sessions that are too similar.
– Help build out a team of world-class, highly collaborative, software engineers.
As founding engineer, you get to shape the company, and build the culture and technology from the ground up.
What we look for:
In a sentence: Technically brilliant, delightful to work with, combined with a self-awareness and strong desire to improve. We also want to make sure everyone is highly supportive of each other; we win as a team.
We’re currently only looking to bring on folks with senior level skill sets and 5+ years of industry experience. You should have strong web fundamentals and a deep love for software engineering. Maybe you enjoy programming books like Clean Code, Designing Data Intensive Applications, Pragmatic Programmer etc. or enjoy hacking on interesting side projects. You value transparency and candid feedback, and are motivated by a strong desire to become the best engineer you can be.
You can read about our values here https://sumptuous-lungfish-609.notion.site/Meticulous-values…
You will be given the space and time to up-level yourself as an engineer in terms of conferences, reading, or whatever you think will be most valuable. We will also set you up with mentorship, if you desire it, from top engineering leaders (folks running 100-engineer organizations at the world’s leading tech companies).
If this sounds interesting, please reach out to me at gabe [at] meticulous [dot] ai with “HN” in the subject line and 2-3 sentences about what you find interesting about Meticulous and your resume/LinkedIn/GitHub.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
This Old Testament Bible verse foretells Christ’s birth and mission as delivered by the prophet Isaiah, whose ministry spanned 60 years, according to Israelmyglory.org.
One North Carolina-based ministry leader today says he is “fascinated” by Old Testament prophecies, noting that there are “hundreds of them.”
The prophets “pronounced their prophecies approximately 700 years before the child we celebrate at Christmas was born in human form in the little town of Bethlehem,” Judge Phil Ginn, president of the Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, told Fox News Digital via email.
“Here’s the striking part,” Ginn continued. “The Jesus we know and worship as Christ-followers fulfilled all of the prophecies that speak of his first coming over 2,000 years ago.”
Ginn also said that the scientific and statistical prospects for this occurring are “quite staggering.”
“Mathematician Peter Stoner [used] the science of probabilities and determined that if Jesus fulfilled only eight of the Messianic prophecies, it is equivalent to the probability of one in 10 — followed by 17 zeros,” Ginn continued.
He said that, according to Stoner, “that many silver dollars” would “cover the entire state of Texas 2 coins deep.”
He continued, “Then, if you marked one of the dollars, stirred the whole mess and asked a blind man to find the one that was marked, you could begin to understand the unique standing of Jesus as the promised Messiah of both Israel and the entire world as well.”
Maybe it is time we “followed the science” as we celebrate Jesus’ human birth, he added.
“Isaiah reminds us that another name for our Messiah will be the Prince of Peace,” Ginn also said.
While we pray, “especially at Christmastime for peace on earth,” there will “be no peace until Christ is on his earthly throne,” Ginn continued.
BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY: ‘HUMILITY’ ALLOWS US TO TRUST AND ‘CAST OUR CARES ON GOD,’ SAYS FAITH LEADER
“So, while we look forward each year to our celebration of Christmas, the true followers of Christ anxiously look forward to his coming again,” he underscored.
“The Bible tells us that one day the eastern sky will explode with the glory of our new king,” Ginn also said.
“It is that same Bible which so accurately foretold of the first coming of the Christ child so many years ago,” he continued.

“The prophecies of his second advent into the earthly sphere are being fulfilled before our eyes every day,” he said, “so, just maybe, we should be looking forward to that great event while we celebrate his Nativity this Christmas.”
He added, “Even so, come Lord Jesus!”‘
