House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Tuesday that House Republicans “welcome” the dysfunction wrought in the Senate over its border security and supplemental aid bill. Johnson has made no secret of his opposition to the bipartisan deal, declaring it “dead on arrival” multiple times since its release on Sunday night, including during House GOP leaders’ … Continue reading Speaker Johnson cheers on Senate border deal’s potential demise: 'We welcome it'

GREG GUTFELD: Mayorkas is a border czar only a cartel could love
So, America’s least popular reality show is still going strong. Yes, I’m talking about the Bachelor Southern Border. Millions of illegal, most of whom seem to be healthy young men, are walking away from all the other gals in the world to cozy up to the world’s most eligible bachelorette. That sexy lady in the long, flowing gown. Yeah, the Statue of Liberty. Or as I like to call her, a six. I mean, come on, we could have done better. So many hotter immigrants. So a migrant traveling from Venezuela will literally walk through six other countries before hitting the Texas border. How do they do that? I go five blocks and I’m exhausted. So is my driver. Now, if you’re so desperate that you have to flee your nation on foot without a visa or even a passport, aren’t you desperate enough not to be choosy? Wouldn’t you be satisfied with the first reasonable option? Not everyone gets to marry the prom queen. I mean, I was dumped by mine. Because she was too much into cheerleading practice and getting good grades. That, and I was 48.
VIDEO SHOWS DOZENS OF MIGRANTS DELIVERED TO BORDER BEFORE ENTERING US ILLEGALLY
But why come here when there are so many places before us with people who speak the language and have better food? Well, it’s simple. Roughly six seconds after his saggy, dented ass hit the Oval Office chair, Joe threw out a welcome mat that stretched from Washington to Tierra del Fuego. He may as well put up signs in Mexico saying, “Don’t stop! In a few miles, you’ll get free meals and sex changes if you murder someone.” I know. On top of that, the UN just presented a plan giving $1.6 billion to 17 Latin American countries, partially in the form of prepaid debit cards for migrants. Now, the UN gets 20% of its budget from us, so we’re actually paying the migrants to come here. And what do you know? Suddenly, the U.S. had roughly 10 million new contestants that decided we’re the one. Which is why it’s about time to replace the Statue of Liberty’s torch with a can of pepper spray.
Metaphorically! It’s an analogy. Not literally. I don’t think they make them that big. Because the White House has turned the Statue of Liberty into a $10 waterfront hooker. No surprise it takes progressivism to its inevitable endpoint. You don’t get Paradise. You get chaos. No person is illegal. Everyone is welcome. That sounds great in my hot tub until the entire nation of Bolivia shows up, then it sounds great. So what’s the damage? Well, we got a tug of war over razor wire, an event verging on a constitutional crisis. There’s also the well-deserved impeachment hearings for DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who looks like a cross between James Carville and a Kaiser roll. Mayorkas is a border czar only a cartel could love. So go ahead, impeach away. But let’s not get distracted. The administration has painted themselves into a corner, which is why they are now changing the rules. Suddenly, we’re being told we must negotiate, that we’re close to achieving bipartisan legislation. Bipartisan. Makes you wonder who they’re trying to buy. After all, why the hell do we have to negotiate a border? Wasn’t that part of the original deal?
The truth is, we don’t need legislation. It’s not that hard. See, when the great orange wall known as Trump came into office, he instituted the policy called Remain in Mexico. Which, by the way, is exactly the same thing I told Menudo. And they did. But it was just that. An executive order, a policy issued by the president. All it took was a pen and a phone. Two things that Biden confuses all the time, which is why he has ink all over his face. So, like most brilliant ideas, Remain in Mexico, was simple and it worked. All it meant was that migrants traveling through Mexico to claim asylum here had to wait in Mexico for their cases to be heard in a U.S. court. Now, since progressives threw up every barrier to deportation they could think of, that could take three years. So, three years waiting around but now on the Mexican side of the border. Phony asylum claims would plummet when, instead of a luxury hotel, they get a motel six. No longer can you dream of trimming Nancy Pelosi’s hedges or screwing Arnold Schwarzenegger.
BIDEN ADMIN FORMALLY ENDS TRUMP’S ‘REMAIN IN MEXICO’ IMMIGRATION POLICY
And so, as expected, tent cities began to spring up down there. Mexico started looking as bad as downtown Seattle. And so quickly, Mexico started enforcing its own southern border to keep migrants out. Imagine that? Remain in Mexico was such a good idea, it created two different southern borders. But since this idea was Trump’s, it had to be undone. Which is like refusing to cash in a winning lottery ticket because you don’t like the cashier’s tie. The left hates Trump so much they come out against banging supermodels. Thank you. I think that deserves applause. So it’s not hard to see why the Republicans consider this supposed bipartisan border bill as dead on arrival as Joe himself. It should never have been alive to begin with. And to the horror of the media, Republicans aren’t falling for it. Which is why nutcases like Morning Joe now accuse Republicans and Trump of murder.
MSNBC’S JOE SCARBOROUGH: People, as Mitt Romney said, are suffering right now. Fentanyl flooding across the border, illegal immigrants streaming across the border, Democrats and Republicans in the Senate know how to stop it. And House Republicans and Donald Trump won’t do it. It is immoral.
What’s immoral, you gasbags, is your phony display of outrage now, after three years of this crap. Either those two are stupid or they’re plain stupid. But they’re not smart enough to pretend to be this dumb. It is deep. Thankfully, unlike those bozos, we’re not falling for it. The point is, Remain in Mexico still works, and just as easily as Trump did it and Biden undid it, Biden can redo it. I mean, it’s not like we’re asking him to tie his shoes or acknowledge his own grandkid. No negotiations, no legislation. We don’t need to spend more millions on the border. That’s b*****. Hell, if you need money, take what you made from selling off the border wall and buy yourself a nice new pen. Then practice signing your name if you can remember it.
Rhode Island man charged after feds find 26 pounds of cocaine in kayak near Canadian border
A Rhode Island man could face up to 40 years in prison after federal agents found him with 26 pounds of cocaine in a kayak on Lake Champlain in Vermont, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
Freddy Rodriguez, 38, of West Warwick, was encountered by federal agents behind a rented camp in Highgate, Vermont, near the Canadian border, on the night of Sept. 18, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Rodriguez was spotted walking to the shores of Lake Champlain with a bag, the agents said in court documents.
Agents say that after they got word that a vessel had entered the United States on the lake and was traveling south near the camp, they saw Rodriguez load objects from a bag into a kayak and start to drag the boat into the water, the documents state.

Rodriguez tried to flee when agents confronted him, but he was apprehended.
Agents described objects found in the kayak as brick-like packages that contained a white powder. The powder tested presumptively positive for the presence of cocaine, according to federal prosecutors.
The brick-like packages weighed approximately 26.4 pounds.
If convicted, Rodriguez could spend between five and 40 years in prison. He was released on conditions of pre-trial supervision after a detention hearing Monday.

Blake Masters rips 'unforgivable' lack of action on border crisis by Biden, Sen. Mark Kelly
Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters said the greatest issues facing his state are inflation and the border crisis which he blames on Joe Biden and his opponent, Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.
The Republican joined “America’s Newsroom” Wednesday to discuss the race and said Kelly portrays himself as a moderate but is voting “in lockstep with the Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden agenda.”
“Arizona is getting the brunt of it, the border crisis and this economic inflation crisis, people have had enough. And it’s why they want to make a change in November,” he told Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer.
Masters said Mark Kelly and Joe Biden “declared war on American energy” when they “surrendered our energy independence, and then they printed $6 trillion too quickly,” a move he said contributed to rising inflation.
Masters also blamed Kelly for the border crisis.
“Joe Biden and Mark Kelly caused this crisis. They gave the whole southwest border over to the Mexican drug cartels. It’s a human trafficking disaster. The crime being committed, the fentanyl coming through. This is all on Mark Kelly.”
Masters said he would support securing the border and slammed Kelly for his inaction as poisonous fentanyl comes across.
“I just find it so unforgivable that Joe Biden and Mark Kelly, haven’t even pretended to do anything about it.”
“Mark Kelly just two days ago announced some new fentanyl bill he’s trying to run in the Congress,” said Masters, ahead of Thursday’s debate with Kelly.
“It’s performative. He didn’t do anything for the first 22 months. And now, what, three days before our debate? One month before Election Day. Now Mark Kelly pretends to get serious about fentanyl. It’s killing our kids here in Arizona. He’s not keeping people safe.”
Hemmer said Kelly has been invited onto the show to respond and lay out his case to voters.

Biden touts 'rule of law' in polarizing speech, as border is overrun with illegal migrants
President Biden, in a divisive speech taking aim at “MAGA Republicans” Thursday night, touted the importance of the “rule of law” — even as hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants hit the border each month, many of whom are released into the country.
Biden used the address, outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia, to launch attacks against President Trump and his supporters while declaring that “equality and democracy are under assault.” He also said that American democracy only works if the “rule of law” is respected and slammed those who he claimed did not respect it.
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution,” Biden said, flanked by Marines and with a deep-red background behind him. “They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people.”
“This is a nation that believes in the rule of law,” he said at another point in the speech. “We do not repudiate it.”
“American democracy only works if we choose to respect the rule of law and the institutions that were set up in this chamber behind me, only if we respect our legitimate political differences,”
However, Biden spoke as an overwhelming and ongoing migrant crisis continues to ravage the border since he took office. Currently, around 200,000 illegal migrants hit the border each month. There have been more than two million migrant encounters this fiscal year alone, after a record-setting 1.7 million last fiscal year.
While some are expelled under the Title 42 public health order — which the Biden administration is seeking to end, but has so far been blocked by a federal court — most migrants are released into the U.S. ahead of a court hearing that can be more than a year away. Asylum hearings can take five to eight years to complete, and the vast majority are ultimately denied.
The Biden administration has stopped border wall construction, ended asylum agreements that would see illegal immigrants sent to closer Central American countries to claim asylum, and stopped the Migrant Protection Protocols — which kept migrants in Mexico for their asylum process.
MAYORKAS CLAIMS SOUTHERN BORDER ‘IS SECURE’ AS HISTORIC MIGRANT CRISIS RAGES
Meanwhile, the administration has been narrowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement priorities to just recent border crossers, aggravated felons and national security threats — meaning the vast majority of those in the country illegally are not targeted for arrest or deportation. As a result, arrests and deportations have plummeted since Biden took office. A court order recently ordered the administration to halt the narrowed priorities.
Critics have accused the administration of not enforcing immigration law, including laws that require that illegal immigrants be detained on entry to the U.S. The Biden administration has claimed its mass-release policies are in line with U.S. laws, including allowing those who turn up at the border to claim asylum — even those who have passed through multiple countries, or have even flown to the continent from Africa and the Middle East. It has also claimed the border is “secure.”
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which calls for lower levels of immigration, tore into Biden for his touting of the rule of law on Thursday evening.
“If ever there was an administration that does not respect the rule of law, it is this one,” FAIR President Dan Stein said in a statement. “There is no more glaring example of lawlessness than the Biden administration’s gutting of immigration laws and border enforcement. This administration is not just refusing to enforce nearly every immigration and border enforcement law on the books, the president’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, in a series of policy memos, has put it in writing. Moreover, the Biden administration is defying a federal court order to resume immigration enforcement.”
Stein accused the administration of “openly” refusing to remove illegal immigrants unless they are violent felons or terrorists.
“Time and again, when immigration laws are at odds with their own political objectives, our laws get chucked in the trash can,” he said. “That is the hallmark of an authoritarian dictatorship, not a constitutional republic.”
Meanwhile, former Trump-era acting Director of National Intelligence Director Richard Grenell contrasted Biden’s statements with support of jurisdictions which refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
“Joe Biden talks about the rule of law but supports Sanctuary Cities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, whose office this week revealed that the head of Border Patrol had testified that encounters increase when there are “no consequences” for illegal entry, also accused the Biden administration of flouting the law on the border.
That testimony came as part of a lawsuit that charges that the agencies under Biden’s direction are failing to follow established federal law, specifically the Immigration and Nationality Act, that requires officials to detain illegal aliens at the border until they are sent back to their country of citizenship.
“Not only are they completely ignoring public safety immigration laws to the detriment to the security of our nation, they are also building new programs that are unlawful to bring more people over here that are illegal,” she said on Fox Business. “This administration is absolutely no question sacrificing the safety of our nation for politics.”
