Dems 'want answers' on Biden documents, Rep. Porter says: 'Classified documents belong in classified settings'

Democrats want answers from the White House regarding stashes of classified documents improperly held by President Biden since the Obama administration, Democratic Rep. Katie Porter of California said.

Porter, speaking with reporters after a town hall event Tuesday, was asked about her role in the House Oversight Committee and the ongoing investigation into Biden’s illicit storage of classified documents at his private residence, inside his garage, and in the office of his think tank.

WHITE HOUSE REFUSES TO SAY IF BIDEN WOULD SIT FOR INTERVIEW WITH SPECIAL COUNSEL IN CLASSIFIED RECORDS PROBE

“So I definitely think that we want to get answers from the White House,” Porter said.

Porter, however, wouldn’t say if she will sign on to a request from Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer for records related to the classified documents.

“I don’t know if that document request – I have not reviewed the line by line of the request that Chairman [James] Comer made – but I definitely think we want answers. Classified documents belong in classified settings, and I think you heard me say oversight is not a partisan thing. Good oversight means you’re willing to hold any rule breaker to account.”

Comer, a Kentucky Republican, sent a letter Sunday to White House chief of staff Ron Klain requesting more documents and communications related to the discoveries of multiple Obama-era classified documents in several locations at Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, and the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.

COMER WILL ‘CONTINUE TO PRESS’ FOR INFO ON BIDEN DOCS SCANDAL AFTER WHITE HOUSE SAYS NO VISITOR LOGS IN DE

Porter went on to say there has been “much broader abuse of classified information” by former President Donald Trump.

“I don’t have all the facts about President Biden’s classified information,” Porter continued. “We don’t have all the facts, sadly, because of obstruction yet about President Trump’s much broader abuse of classified information. But we should be asking for answers in a respectful way, and we should be expecting to get honest ones.”

BIDEN IGNORES REPORTERS’ QUESTIONS ABOUT CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS FOR 2ND TIME AS STAFF ESCORTS MEDIA OUT

Biden again ignored reporters’ questions on Tuesday as they tried to get him to address the classified documents from his time as vice president that were recently found at his Delaware home and the Penn Biden Center.

Biden had a meeting with Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and after the two leaders delivered brief remarks, reporters began hurling questions at the president. They were all met with silence.

The same thing happened three times last week. First, Biden refused to answer questions about the documents on Monday, Jan. 9.

Then the following day, Jan. 10, the president did not acknowledge questions after his meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Rod Stewart says ‘farewell’ to late brother Bob after losing eldest sibling Don: ‘Two of my best mates gone’

Rod Stewart is saying “farewell” to his brother Bob, who passed away just months after their eldest sibling, Don.

On Friday, the singer took to Instagram and shared a photo of what appeared to be a program from Bob’s funeral service at London’s Islington Burial Chapel.

“I said Farewell to my Brother Bob today, with his coffin draped in a Rangers flag (life long Glasglow Rangers fan),” the legendary artist wrote. “We loved our game days up in Scotland together.”

Bob was 87.

ROD STEWART MOURNS THE DEATHS OF HIS BROTHERS: ‘I’VE LOST TWO OF MY BEST MATES IN THE SPACE OF TWO MONTHS’

“Now he joins Brother Don,” wrote Stewart. “Rest in peace boys. Two of my best mates gone within just a few months.”

Stewart is the youngest of five siblings. According to the Los Angeles Times, the singer has two living sisters, Peggy and Mary.

In December, the British icon announced on social media that he was mourning the loss of his brothers.

“It’s with great sadness that I announce the loss of my brother Bob last night, who joins my brother Don on the great football pitch in the sky,” he wrote on Instagram alongside an image that read “Rest in Peace” with a candle flame.

“I’ve lost two of my best mates in the space of two months,” he shared about his “irreplaceable buddies.”

Stewart announced in September that Don had passed away at age 94.

“It has been a devastating 48 hours,” he wrote at the time.”We lost my brother Don on Tuesday at 94 and today we have all lost Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 96.”

The queen, England’s longest-reigning monarch, passed away on Sept. 8 at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle.

“The Queen has been an unwavering presence throughout my life and a great unifier,” Stewart captioned the post. “A shining star that will never fade in our hearts and souls. What a privilege it was to perform for her. My deepest sympathies to the Royal Family. God save the King.”

Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, was a member of the police detail at the queen’s state funeral.

“With all that planning going ahead, you can never quite predict how the crowd is [going to] react and the dangers that might lay ahead,” the British model and TV personality told Sky News.

“But we’ve had great training and preparation and fortunately, everybody paid their respects in the proper manner, and we didn’t have any incidents to speak of,” the 51-year-old shared. “So I’m very grateful for that.”

ROD STEWART’S WIFE, PENNY LANCASTER, ON POLICING QUEEN ELIZABETH’S FUNERAL: ‘BIGGEST HONOR OF ALL’

Lancaster began volunteering for the force after appearing on the reality TV show “Famous and Fighting Crime,” where celebrities swap their day jobs with those of emergency service professionals. An inspired Lancaster went on to become a special police constable for the City of London Police in April 2021.

“This is the biggest honor of all, to be able to serve today on Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral,” Lancaster told PA News Agency. “We were in uniform by five o’clock this morning, and we didn’t know what time we will be working until. We just want to make sure that all the crowds get home safely.”

The star noted that despite her “long” shift, “I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”

Lancaster and Stewart tied the knot in 2007.

Back in 2019, Stewart described how his siblings were always in his corner.

“I’ve got to tell you, these guys were instrumental in supporting me, helping me get into music, and just being there for me,” he told The Sun. “Whether it was football or washing my dirty underpants, I can’t speak highly enough about these guys.”

Idaho murders: Police should have released Hyundai information 'immediately,' former Det. Ted Williams says

MOSCOW, Idaho – Fox news contributor and retired Washington, D.C., homicide detective Ted Williams says Idaho police should have released information about a white sedan spotted near the scene of a Nov. 13 quadruple homicide near the University of Idaho campus “immediately” rather than three weeks after the fact. “I’m not being critical of law … Continue reading Idaho murders: Police should have released Hyundai information 'immediately,' former Det. University of Idaho president says shocking murder of four students is 'beyond comprehension’

The University of Idaho president mourned the loss of four students Wednesday who were murdered in their home near the school on the morning of Nov. 13, calling their deaths “beyond comprehension.”

President Scott Green was joined by Provost Tory Lawrence and Dean of Students Blaine Eccles during a press conference Wednesday afternoon with Moscow Police Department Chief James Fry and other law enforcement officials, where they shared details on the quadruple homicide of Ethan Chapin, 20; Xana Kernodle, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21.

“This crime and the loss of these young lives is just simply beyond comprehension. While our small community is certainly not immune to such things. It’s not a situation our close-knit campus is used to dealing with,” Green said.

“First, my deepest condolences to the families and friends of Ethan, Kaylie, Zina and Madison,” the school administrator said. “Their loss has been devastating and they were bright lights in our community and are deeply missed and remain in our thoughts and our prayers.”

Green said the school is fully cooperating with Moscow police “when asked and continually pushed for information whenever possible.”

Police at the same presser said there is “possibly” still a threat to the Moscow community as no persons of interest or suspects have been placed in custody as of Wednesday evening.

“We do not have a suspect at this time, and we cannot say there is no threat to the community,” Moscow Police Department Chief James Fry said.

“We just want justice for these victims,” Green added later.

UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO MURDERS: TWO ROOMMATES WERE AT HOME WHEN FOUR STUDENTS WERE KILLED

The University of Idaho president said the focus of the school is to “support our students and our employees” as they navigate the coming days and weeks and tackle whatever additional information the investigation may unravel.

“We are encouraging students and employees to take care of themselves as we head into Thanksgiving break. I want to take a moment to commend our faculty and staff who have been on the front lines helping our students, whether that is providing counseling to those in need of support,” he added.

“The weeks ahead will continue to challenge us as this loss and the circumstances around this crime become known. We will support each other as we grieve and we’ll move through this together as a family,” Green concluded.

Most of the university’s students had already returned home before the murders took place.

Police are continuing to investigate the four murders and provided few details at the Wednesday presser of what may have taken place Sunday.

Officials said that there were no signs of forcible entry and that the four victims suffered fatal knife wounds. No weapon was located at the scene, though.

California state senator says he remembers Paul Pelosi's alleged attacker from 2013 nudist protests

California state Sen. Scott Wiener, a Democrat, said that he remembers Paul Pelosi’s alleged attacker from nudist protests in 2013 relating to the implementation of a San Francisco ban on public nudity.

David DePape, 42, is accused of attacking Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in their San Francisco home early on Friday morning.

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said DePape is being charged with attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary and other felony charges in relation to the attack, which took place after 2 a.m.

Police were responding to a wellbeing check when officers found DePape and Paul Pelosi struggling with a hammer, according to Scott, adding that the officers saw DePape take the hammer away from Paul Pelosi, who then “violently assaulted” him.

NANCY PELOSI’S HUSBAND PAUL PELOSI ATTACKED BY SUSPECT DAVID DEPAPE, WHO SHOUTED ‘WHERE IS NANCY?’: SOURCE

According to a law enforcement source, the suspect was shouting, “Where is Nancy, where is Nancy?”

Wiener, a California state senator in the San Francisco area, told Fox News Digital that he remembers DePape from pro-nudist protests in 2013.

“[DePape] looked very familiar to me from when we were dealing with public nudity issues in 2012/2013,” Wiener said.

The protests came after Wiener sponsored legislation banning public nudity in 2012, according to ABC7.

Weiner said that DePape was associated with Gypsy Taub, who is a nudist activist in Berkeley.

“[DePape] was associated with this woman by the name of Gypsy Taub, who was like this very creepy person who, in addition to her activism around public nudity, she was a 9/11 denier,” Weiner said. “She was the ringleader, and she was extremely aggressive and creepy. … And I think he was one of the people in her work.”

PAUL PELOSI SAN FRANCISCO ATTACK: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT VIOLENT HOME INVASION

The California state senator said that Taub and DePape weren’t considered “regular” nudist activists, but “they were more aggressive” and “they were creepy.”

“I just want to, you know, be very clear, that they were in a different category than the regular [nudist activists],” Wiener said.

DePape was tackled by police officers, who then took him into custody. Police are investigating a possible motive for the attack.

Drew Hammill, spokesman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said in a statement on Friday afternoon that Paul Pelosi is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing surgery to repair a skull fracture as well as other injuries.

“Earlier this morning, Paul Pelosi was attacked at home by an assailant who acted with force, and threatened his life while demanding to see the Speaker,” Hammill said. “Mr. Pelosi was admitted to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital where he underwent successful surgery to repair a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands. His doctors expect a full recovery.”

Historian compares Biden to Lincoln, says 2022 elections are ‘easily’ the ‘most important’ since the Civil War

Presidential historian Jon Meacham compared President Biden to Abraham Lincoln Tuesday, arguing the upcoming midterm elections will be the most important choice that America has made since the lead up to the Civil War.

Appearing on “CNN Tonight” to promote his new book about Lincoln, he was asked by CNN co-host Alisyn Camerota to “tell us why you think that this is the most important election since 1850.”

Meacham responded that the upcoming elections are about a lot more than just particular policies.

“Well, I think it’s the most important election easily since that period because we are facing a stress test for the rule of law and democracies run not just on policies, not just about what a particular policy or tax rate is, it’s about an overall context of our mutual respect for each other as fellow citizens and a sanctity of law and custom that means that people who win elections legitimately get to serve in office,” Meacham said.

CONSERVATIVE TWITTER ERUPTS OVER KATHY HOCHUL ANSWERS ON NEW YORK CRIME, VACCINES IN DEBATE: ‘A DISASTER’

Meacham, who spoke at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, went on to mock former President George W. Bush while criticizing the Republican Party.

“When you deplete the trust in the system, which is what is unfolding today around the country, and I will confess, as George W. Bush might say, I misunderestimated the power of the ‘big lie’ here, but it’s burrowed in and democracies do not long endure if everything becomes about power at the expense of winning humbly and losing graciously,” Meacham said.

Co-host Laura Coates brought up the Confederacy and slavery before the Civil War and how Meacham compared them to Republicans who question the 2020 presidential election, noting how he wrote that both Lincoln and Biden had to deal with their own versions of the big lie, with Lincoln’s being that “slavery was a justifiable institution.”

PENNSYLVANIA SENATE DEBATE: OZ DECLARES VICTORY OVER FETTERMAN AS THE TWO CLASHED OVER ABORTION, FRACKING

She said there were moments where, if Lincoln had succumbed to pressure to placate the Confederacy, history would have turned out much differently and told Meacham, “You draw these analogies in a way, I think is not always so obvious but it’s fascinating to think of how and where we are today.”

Meacham said the main question we must answer “for the continuation of the constitutional experiment” is “do we put our own interests above everything else?”

“If we go entirely political, if it’s entirely – every moment is this battle where it is cataclysmic – then the system doesn’t endure,” he said, reiterating that Lincoln could have chosen a different path. But because he prioritized democracy over his political future, “Abraham Lincoln, flawed, fallen, and fallible, said no. And he said no, because he believed fundamentally that slavery had to die and the union had to endure.”

Republicans are gaining ground in the crucial midterm elections, with Republicans focusing on the economy and rising crime while Democrats have sought to make the campaign about abortion and a “threat to democracy.”

Jana Kramer says ex-husband cheated with more than 13 women

Jana Kramer said this week that ex-husband Mike Caussin cheated on her with more than 13 women during their nearly six-year marriage.

“That has to be really painful,” “Red Table Talk” co-host Jada Pinkett Smith empathized in a preview clip Tuesday of Wednesday’s Facebook Watch show.

“I know we’re both in better situations,” the country star told the co-hosts through tears, “But I think about this year, my kids won’t wake up at my house Christmas Day. That one’s gonna hurt.”

The couple, who share Jolie, 6, and Jace, 3, divorced last year after marrying in 2015.

JANA KRAMER SPENDS FIRST THANKSGIVING WITHOUT KIDS AFTER DIVORCE: ‘MY HEART HURTS’

She continued, “That’s when I get like, ‘That’s not fair. You took away my dream too of what I wanted for my family. That’s not fair.'”

JANA KRAMER OPENS UP ABOUT EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL ABUSE IN PAST RELATIONSHIPS MONTHS AFTER DIVORCE

Last Thanksgiving, she wrote on Instagram, “My heart hurts not being with [her children] today and I have a feeling whether it’s the first holiday apart or the 30th there will always be an ache in the heart.”

A year after they were married, she and Caussin, a former NFL player, separated for a year over infidelity issues and the ex-tight end sought treatment for sex addiction.

“For me, I realized a lot of things throughout my life that sex and sexual acting out was my addictive behavior, and that’s where I went to hide my feelings, to run away from reality and that was my drug,” Caussin said in 2019.

The couple renewed their vows in 2017 and they co-wrote the book “The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully” in 2020.

In April 2021, Kramer wrote on Instagram, “’It’s time.’ As I try to make sense of a reality that I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality. I’ve fought y’all. I’ve loved hard. I’ve forgiven. I’ve put the work in. I’ve given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give. ‘It’s time.'”

She added, “Please know that I still believe wholeheartedly in marriage, love, and rebuilding. I just can’t fight any longer. It’s time to heal. Thank you for all the love, heart, and support, in many ways you have fought on this journey alongside me, and for that I am grateful.”

Marilyn Monroe historian slams Netflix's 'Blonde,' says film is 'the definition of exploitation'

Marilyn Monroe historian Scott Fortner is one of many who are slamming Netflix’s controversial Marilyn Monroe film.

The NC-17 flick, an adaption of Joyce Carol Oates’ 2000 novel, is a fictionalized take on the real-life actress and the struggle she endured during her brief life. The drama, directed by Andrew Dominik, stars Ana de Armas as Monroe. “Blonde” became available for streaming on Sept. 28.

While the film got a rapturous reception at the Venice Film Festival, it has been largely panned by both film critics and Monroe fans since its release. Many have said it exploits Monroe, who passed away in 1962 at age 36.

“As a Marilyn Monroe historian, it’s very disappointing that author Joyce Carol Oates and director Andrew Dominik have gone to such great lengths to victimize Hollywood’s most famous and beloved icon,” Fortner told Fox News Digital.

CRITICS RIP NETFLIX’S ‘BLONDE’ FOR BEING ‘EXPLOITATIVE’ AND ‘SEXIST’: ‘SELF-INDULGENT ACT OF CRUELTY’

“’Blonde’ is a fairytale that straddles a very thin line between actual events in Marilyn Monroe’s life and the false narrative Oates fabricated for her novel,” he said. “In this film, Andrew Dominik has gone even further with graphic, grotesque and disturbing adaptations of the chapters in the book. It is the definition of exploitation. And worse, it is the assassination of a woman who isn’t even here to defend herself and clarify definitively what’s true and what’s false.”

Fortner is considered an authority on Monroe and assists major auction companies in authenticating and verifying memorabilia. He owns the world’s largest private collection of Monroe’s personal possessions, which he shares on both his website and social media. Most recently, he is launching a podcast titled, “All Things Marilyn,” which will aim to explore Monroe’s career and legacy based on conversations with notable experts.

“Above all else, viewers must note that ‘Blonde’ was not a biography about Marilyn Monroe nor is this Netflix film a biopic,” he said. “Nearly every scene in the film portrays a mistruth or fabricated event. It does not tell the true story of Marilyn Monroe.”

Fortner has also taken to his website to publish an in-depth review after watching “Blonde.” In it, he criticized the film’s numerous inaccuracies on Monroe’s life, which he said are presented as fact.

Like Fortner, Emily Ratajkowski took to social media to share her feelings about “Blonde.” The model, 31, admitted that she has yet to see the film. However, the conversations surrounding it have compelled her to speak out.

“I’m not surprised to hear it’s yet another movie fetishizing female pain even in death,” said Ratajkowski. “We do that in many, many different ways, but I want that to change.”

Ratajkowski compared Monroe’s treatment by the media to other modern-day stars who have suffered in the public eye.

“Look at Amy Winehouse, look at Britney Spears, look at the way we obsess over [Princess] Diana’s death,” she shared.

‘BLONDE’ STAR ANA DE ARMAS IS CONFUSED ON WHY MOVIE GOT NC-17 RATING: ‘I DIDN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT HAPPENED’

Adrien Brody, who starred in “Blonde,” defended the project, insisting it was “supposed to be a traumatic experience.” The Oscar winner told the Hollywood Reporter that both the film and the book that it was inspired by are “rife with themes of exploitation and trauma” because “Marilyn’s life, unfortunately, was full of that.”

“I think that since [the film is] told in this first-person perspective, it works somehow for the film to be a traumatic experience because you’re inside of her — her journey and her longings and her isolation — amidst all of this adulation,” said the 49-year-old. “It’s brave, and it takes a while to digest. And I think it’s in conflict with what the public’s perception of her life is.”

Monroe’s official Instagram page has dedicated its most recent posts to her accomplishments as a star.

“Throughout Marilyn’s life, she never stopped aiming to better herself and her career,” one post read. “She studied under many coaches and was always eager to develop her talent.”

ANA DE ARMAS NC-17 MARILYN MONROE MOVIE ‘BLONDE’ WILL LIKELY ‘OFFEND EVERYONE’: DIRECTOR

“Marilyn dedicated her life to acting,” revealed another. “Once she got into the movie business, she got acting lessons and advice to help her succeed.”

Dominik, who has read many of the reviews, said that “Blonde” is supposed to be “a horror film.”

In his post, Fortner noted that the grotesque inaccuracies of “Blonde” make it a true horror show even for those unfamiliar with Monroe’s journey beyond the big screen. Rather than exploring a complex life that included both triumphs and tragedies, it only created a poor caricature of a star mocked decades after her death.

“In a 1960 interview with journalist Georges Belmont, Marilyn said, ‘The true things rarely get into circulation. It’s usually the false things.’” Fortner pointed out. “’Blonde’ is utterly atrocious, misogynistic and a fail in every sense of the word. My only hope is that it is perceived by viewers as so incredibly ridiculous, salacious and horrifying that the general public will switch it off and assume it couldn’t possibly be an accurate representation of the most famous blonde of all time.”

“We should all take comfort in knowing Marilyn Monroe is not here to witness this,” he added.

Gisele Bündchen admits 'concerns' over Tom Brady’s return to NFL, says she wishes he could be ‘more present'

Gisele Bündchen said she wishes her husband Tom Brady could be “more present” in their family’s life while adding that she has concerns about the NFL legend’s return to the sport after prematurely announcing his retirement earlier this year.

“Obviously, I have my concerns – this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” she told Elle magazine in the October issue.

She agreed with the interviewer that media reports that she’s desperate to have the quarterback retire are sexist – “I think this is the system we’ve been living in. That’s what society has accepted and what society hasn’t accepted – but admitted she’s had “conversations with him over and over again” about his continuing to play at 45 years old.

“But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too,” she said of her husband who has seven Super Bowl rings.

While she declined to comment on why Brady took 11 days off from an August training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “to deal with some personal things,” as the Buccaneers head coach said, the quarterback told reporters, “Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives. I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of s— going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can. You know, it’s a continuous process.”

Some media outlets had speculated the break meant the two were having marital problems.

In the latest episode of his podcast “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray,” he said, “football and family has always been the most important thing to me.”

The supermodel told Elle it makes her happy to see Brady’s and her children’s success and says she also has plans for herself – she’s especially involved in conservation efforts in her native country of Brazil.

“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom],” she told the magazine. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams. Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career – it makes me happy. At this point in my life, I feel like I’ve done a good job on that. I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do,” she says. At 42, I feel more connected with my purpose.”

The couple have been married since 2009 and have two children together: Benjamin Rein, 12, and daughter Vivian Lake, 9. Brady also has son Jack Edward, 15, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

Bündchen didn’t attend the Buccaneers season opener against the Dallas Cowboys in Texas on Sunday, but she tweeted her support, writing, “Let’s go @TomBrady ! Let’s go Bucs !” The Buccaneers won 19-3.
