Texas shelter dog who was 'so pregnant she couldn't even walk' gives birth to double-digit litter

A Texas rescue dog whose dire pregnancy rendered her immobile ended up giving birth to nearly a dozen healthy and happy puppies.

The dog, who has been named Meter Maid, was brought to Austin Pets Alive (APA) on Feb. 11 after spending three days in a municipal shelter.

The shelter staff noticed Meter Maid’s advanced pregnancy and called on the APA to assist, Luis Sanchez, APA’s spokesperson, told Fox News Digital.

APA had shared a TikTok post revealing that Meter Maid was “so pregnant that she couldn’t even walk outside.”

Footage shows the mama dog being wheeled around and carried by staff members, who waited anxiously for her to give birth.

“Turns out it’s because she was pregnant with ELEVEN PUPPIES!” APA shared on TikTok. “Good job, mama.”

APA employees even had a “Days without Puppies” tally to keep track of how long Meter Maid was pregnant.

Meter Maid ended up giving birth on her sixteenth day at APA – and she had an eye-popping amount of babies.

Photos show Meter Maid looking inquisitively at humans while safeguarding her trove of pups. The puppies were stacked on top of each other to get milk from their mother.

Sanchez told Fox News Digital that all 11 pups were born healthy.

“Meter Maid was found to be heartworm positive but will get her treatment with Austin Pets Alive and her foster/adopter,” Sanchez explained.

Sanchez told Fox News Digital that Meter Maid giving birth to this amount of puppies isn’t too rare for a large-sized dog.

“For larger dogs it is not uncommon for them to have litters in double digits,” he said.

Sanchez said that the entire family will go up for adoption in April.

“The family will be ready for adoption in a few weeks when the puppies are weaned,” Sanchez said. “For now, the litter will stay together as she cares [for] and nurses them.”

Texas inmate serving life for sexual abuse of child escapes prison, authorities say

A manhunt is underway in Texas for a convicted sex offender who escaped from prison on Sunday, authorities said.

Robert Yancy Jr., 39, escaped at about 3:38 p.m. from the Clemens Unit in Brazoria, where he was serving a life sentence without parole for continuous sexual abuse of a child out of Victoria County, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.

Yancy was last seen in a white Nissan Versa with his mother, Lenor Priestle, the Brazoria County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office said in a post on social media.

Deputies immediately entered the vehicle’s license plate into a state-wide license plate reader system and got a hit at around 6:09 p.m., indicating the vehicle was in Victoria County, where authorities say Priestle has an address.

“All information obtained at this point leads us to believe Yancy is no longer in Brazoria County,” the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just before 8:30 p.m., the Victoria Police Department said officers stopped a white Nissan in the 100 block of Sam Houston Drive in connection with the escaped inmate.

A female driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had an outstanding felony warrant related to Yancy’s escape, police said. She was taken into custody, though police did not immediately release her identity.

Texas man with 'one of the most extensive' child pornography collections sentenced to 30 years in prison

A Texas man was sentenced to three decades in federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving and possessing hundreds of thousands of pornographic pictures and videos of children.

Scott Thomas Provost, 64, was convicted in January of receipt and possession of child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani via FOX 26 Houston. Provost had more than 300,000 images and 6,000 videos of obscene material involving children in his possession.

With the exception of 22 months, Provost was sentenced to 30 years in prison by U.S. District Judge David Hittner, according to court records. He will also serve 10 years of supervised release when he is released.

Provost will be required to register as a sex offender and will have to pay restitution, which will be determined at a later date, to identify victims, the outlet reported.

He will also have to comply with requirements restricting his access to children and the internet.

“Provost amassed one of the most extensive collections of child pornography videos and images we have seen in this district,” Hamdani said. “Each and every one of the files he had in his possession represents significant trauma and suffering to real children. Today’s sentence demonstrates our commitment to stop those who partake and assist others in viewing child pornography and the continued cycle of abuse these children endure.”

TEXAS MAN SHOOTS, KILLS 2, ALLEGEDLY DEFENDING HIMSELF AT ATM: ‘ROBBERY THAT DIDN’T GO WELL FOR ROBBERS’

According to FOX 26, law enforcement learned of Provost after he was identified as a user of a peer-to-peer network that uses a centralized data store to maintain and deliver information without concerns of censorship.

During a search at Provost’s home in January 2022, authorities discovered nearly four terabytes of pornography, including many downloaded images of child pornography stored on his personal hard drives.

According to court records, forensic analysis showed Provost had 6,718 videos and 313,356 images containing child sexual assault material – some involving children under 12, including infants and toddlers. Many of the images showed young children in bondage and other forms of violence, officials said.

“This is, by far, the largest recovery of child pornographic material by investigators in our FBI Bryan office,” FBI Special Agent in Charge James Smith said. “This individual is one of the worst purveyors of child porn our agents have seen – it was his daily obsession. Unfortunately, with the ever-increasing number of online images depicting sexual abuse of children and an ever-increasing amount of online activity by people seeking to contact them, Provost’s arrest and sentence doesn’t cure the rampant epidemic that is the sexual exploitation of our children.”

Provost will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
